Choose Your Apocalypse
This is one of the more amusing sites one will come across. Slate.com has an intriguing game "Choose Your Own Apocalypse." The game allows you to pick 5 out of 144 possible scenarios to describe what you believe will cause the eventual downfall of America. You have to pick several since the game assumes that there is unlikely to be a single cause dramatic enough to destroy America,
The causes range from loose nukes to antibiotic resistant superbugs to cultural decline and even voluntary human extinction. It then tabulates your causes and comes up with a scenario and then compares you to their average readership.
My apolcalypse is "humanitarian intervention" with this description:
"You're convinced mankind will terminate America—but at least we won't off ourselves in the process. You'll know you're right when: Everyone on Earth pledges allegiance to a world government; the feds default on the national debt."
