Iran plays the mediator

Is Iran playing a smart game in the Middle East and the Caucuses, exploiting the new cleavages emerging between Russia and the US? This piece argues that it is and that the US should get smarter. Apparently, the call for American diplomacy to get smarter is one that is being sounded with ever more frequency.
