The Legend of a Democracy Promoter

This piece asserts that Bush's democaracy promotion agenda will far outlive his Presidency because it is deeply intertwined with America's conception of itself.  This is probably a fair characterization.  Whether this is strategically sound is questionable, but America has never been able to embrace realpolitik of the old European style.
