Russia Calls for Broader European Pact
I have referred to this before, but it is interesting to observe that Russia, now flush with oil cash, is trying to rewrite international rules to its advantage. Now they are trying to promote a new European-Russian security treaty that would essentially change the rules for things like NATO. We won't respond at first with interest and neither will the Europeans. But watch as oil continues to enlarge Russian diplomatic leverage. Assaults to the entire post World War II order continue.
