BMD In Europe More Likely
A solid analysis of how President Bush got NATO to agree to the controversial plan to place BMD bases in Poland and the Czech Republic. Especially interesting is how the relative rise of McCain in domestic US politics strengthened Bush's negotiating power by virtue of the fact that he has a much better chance of retaining the White House for Republicans (and is a proponent as Bush is of the BMD) than would have been expected earlier in the election cycle.
