Cato Institute and Heritage Foundation Debate Fred Thompson’s Military Policy Proposals
This is interesting. A scholar from the libertarian Cato Institute firmly comes out against the proposals of GOP Presidential candidate Fred Thompson. Here is the article and a rebut by former Sen. Jim Talent of Missouri who serves as a Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. I think Thompson is about right. I understand libertarian arguments against high Pentagon spending, but the reality is, it is always better to be prepared than not prepared.
