Cleavages Between Russia and China
As I have posted before, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should be a group worth watching and maybe even with some wariness. It has, by some, been called the “eastern NATO.” Admittedly a strategic axis formed by Russia and China would be a severe challenge to the US , however, this article suggests that despite outward appearances, there may be unspoken competition between the two SCO leaders. Much like Nixon and Kissinger, one may want to see how best to keep these nations, one an energy superpower and the other an emerging superpower, from coalescing any more than they have already done.
