History Literacy

For fun try the link referred to in this piece from Right Angle Blog.  It's a pretty comprehensive test of one's knowledge of American history.  I missed two, but still got over 96.67%.  The averages for College freshmen and seniors taking this test are abysmal even for those in the Ivy League (Harvard Seniors averaged 69.56%).  Not a good sign for the future of the country.  Its hard to make good policy decisions when you don't have a real grasp on how we got to be where we are.  Maybe, that's why our political discourse is so weak and we fixate on the trivialities as opposed to those things that are substantial.
