It’s amazing, at least the New York PD stopped Iranian President Ahmadinejad from going to Ground Zero .  Yet he is going to speak at Columbia University .  Apparently a world leader who has explicitly endorsed genocide against Israel is welcome to speak at a hallowed hall of Higher Learning, but the ROTC can’t recruit there.  If this doesn’t show the moral hypocrisy running rampant through academia, I am not sure what ever could.  Having just finished Allan Bloom’s famous “Closing of the American Mind”, I can honestly say, there is little that surprises me anymore when it comes to the ridiculousness of much of academia today.  There really are no longer any standards or absolutes and this infection of the mind is ruining generations of intelligent people as it influences them to believe in nothing more than, well, “authenticity.”  I guess it will be “authentic” to hear from the most verbally aggressive world leader today.  Maybe some brave soul will speak up and ask a “tough” question or two, but I wouldn’t count on a real dialog.  This is a stunning propaganda coup for Ahmadinejad and we’re handing it to him.  Some comments by William Kristol on this issue as well.
