Levin Wants Maliki Ousted

Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Carl Levin (D- MI) is leaning towards Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki’s ouster.  While this may be a tactic necessary to be explored, it should be done quietly and not pronounced from the rooftops by an overeager Senator.  This is bad form and undermines any last second opportunities Maliki may have for forming a consensus agreement with various factions.  Not smart policy, that said, it does look like potentially good politics since now a prominent Democrat and critic of the Administration is calling for “aggressive” action in order to “stave off defeat”
