Liberal Realists and Rudy vs. Edwards on Foreign Policy
Lots of interesting news today on foreign policy. This article from the NY Observer focuses on the rise of so-called “Liberal Realists”, progressive thinkers who want to rein in America ’s foreign policy. This is in contradiction to the Clinton era policies of liberal internationalism and, yes, interventionism (which didn’t start with George W. Bush).
Also, Rudy Giuiliani and John Edwards make their contribution to the Foreign Affairs set with their views on foreign policy. They follow Obama and Romney who went in the last issue of the ultimate insider journal. I am struck by the term “realism”, it is appears to be very in vogue for both sides of the political spectrum. These debates are well worth watching.
