Will Abe’s Opponents Move Japan Out of US Coalition?
Asia Times piece that speculates that in the wake of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s party’s poor performance, the opposition may be willing to limit Japanese assistance to the US in Afghanistan and Iraq . I am not sure this will really happen and even if it did, Japan still considers America its number one ally. Japan will continue to be there with the US when necessary and we make it clear what we expect.
