On the Unipolar Moment

Given my post yesterday on Ron Paul and non-interventionism, I thought I would link to an article that largely reflects my views of American foreign policy.  The article is by Charles Krauthammer, the columnist who coined the phrase "unipolar moment" after the collapse of the Soviet Union.  Like the "End of History" and the "Clash of Civilizations", the concept of the"unipolar moment" or "unipolar era" is a key idea that attempted to articulate a vision of American foreign policy after the Cold War.  The article was originally published in the Winter 2002 issue of the National Interest journal and was a post-9/11 examination by Krauthammer of his orginal thesis.

It is obviously now dated given that it was written before the invasion of Iraq.  That said, it raises many intereting points and I think is a must read text for anyone looking to the future of American foreign relations.

What did you think of this article?
