Nigeria and Gas Prices

One reason gas prices fluctuate so much (beyond Middle East turbulence and domestic refinery problems) is there is constant news coming from Nigeria (I think our 5th largest supplier of crude) about rebels, kidnappings and attacks on infrastructure.  This news is mostly confined to financial news media or on websites for foreign policy aficionados, but its pretty relevant to what we see when we pull up to the pump.  Here is a piece on one of the major opposition leaders in Nigeria who is combating the government there.  By the way, Nigeria just had a very troubled election.  Reverberations are still being felt.
