George Kennan and the “Original” Containment

Since I am reading a book about Kennan and other’s in the Truman years who helped develop our initial responses to the Soviet Union , I found this article interesting.  It’s typical New York Times kind of work, but it does somewhat accurately describe the differences between Kennan’s conception of “containment” and what actually became US policy.
