Gid Riddance, Ward Churchill
Great piece on the firing of Ward Churchill, the idiot leftist academic who used to be the University of Colorado ’s Chair of the Ethnic-Studies Department. Here’s the guy who called the people jumping to their deaths from the World Trade Center “Little Eichmans.” Of course, he has actually been fired for lying about his background, not his poisonous and treasonous statements within an institution of Higher Learning. That said, at least he’s gone. I only hope we keep going after the kind of professors who accuse us of being the ultimate evil in the world. This is the type of asinine and destructive rhetoric that corrupts minds and destroys unity in the face of danger. As I said in a post yesterday, I am frustrated by the criticism leveled at America for trying and failing to live up to our values. This is exactly the kind of stuff I was talking about. I wonder if a Ward Churchill would fare so well in Iran or under Saddam Hussein, or Kim Jong-il. I suspect being fired would not be his most pressing problem.
